Bedford Book of Genres: Chapter 5

I chose chapter five in the Bedford Book of genres to write about. This chapter is about exploring topics and creating a research proposal. Considering that research is necessary for the quickly approaching project 2, and we need to write a research proposal about our topic for project 2, I thought that it was only fitting. This chapter begins by going through the basic process of picking a topic through doing research. It then transitions into going from a question you are researching, to creating a research proposal. On page 291 the book gives an in-depth checklist to gather all the information you may need to create a research proposal. All of this preliminary research should result in a well thought out research question. The next important thing to do is organize any sources that you plan on using to write your paper. Creating a bibliography is very important in this process. To simplify, creating a well-written research paper involves finding a research question, writing a proposal, and organizing and creating a bibliography.
